James "Jim" Hunt
James “Jim” Hunt, 83, of Cleveland, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at his residence.
Born on Aug. 20, 1935, in Chattanooga to the late Luther Emerson and Vesta Womac Hunt, he spent the majority of his life in Bradley County and was a longtime member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. Jim was retired from K Mart after over 30 years of service and owned Hunt’s Food Mart. He loved the ocean, collecting shells, watching sports and especially loved spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Campbell Hunt.
Survivors include four children, Beth Liner, Rick (Sherry)Hunt, Jerry and Dena Hunt, and Jackie (Joe) Blackburn; nine grandchildren, Pat Myers, Sherry (Todd)Copic ,Sarah Huet-deGuirville, Sonya (Paul) Dacus, Shane(Laurie) Hunt, Mindy(Sam) Farrar, Christy Bibee, Stephanie (Steven) Rogers, and Melissa Blackburn(Ben Achata); ten great-grandchildren, Schyler, Parker, Jordan, Addisyn, Avarie, Kevin, Noah, Ashton, Aiden, and Madilyn; and sister Patricia Ann Malone all of Cleveland.
A Celebration of Life and Home going for Jim Hunt will be held at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 20, at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with Pastor Ramon Torres officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m until the time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial contributions be made to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.
