Carrie Me Black Young
Carrie Mae Black Young, age 74, of Summerville, Georgia entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 19, 2018 with her family at her bedside.
She was born on Feb. 8, 1944 to the late Samuel Black, Sr. and Nannie R. Long Black. Carrie graduated from A.C. Carter High School, was a life member of West Fifth Street Church Of Christ. For many years she was employed with Fairway Recreational Center, retired after 30 years at Chattooga Parent Child Center, retired from Chattooga Transit Service, and she is the widow of Bobby Ray Young.
She is survived by her children, Steve (Larlene) Black of Douglasville, Ga., Frazier (Tammy) Black, Raymond (Brandi) Young, of Kennesaw, Ga., Avis Black, Aviva Yolanda (Eric) Sanford, Sequcoiyah Hithe, of Summerville, Ga.; extended children, Cedric McClinic, and Maurice Carter; sister, Eva Byron; two sisters-in-law, Annie Black of Summerville, Evelyn Black of Toledo, Ohio; grandchildren, Zay Blount, Cherish Young, Raven Dallas, Ragiene Williams, Aryonna Black, Triniti Young, R. J. Young, Jaylon Sanford, Sarah Hithe, Grayson Black, Braxton Sanford; four great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A homegoing service will be on Sunday, Nov. 25, at 2 p.m. at the West Fifth Street Church of Christ with Pastor John Lewis, Presiding and Bro. J. J. Bankston as eulogist. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.
Interment, Summerville Cemetery.
