Leroy Beck, Jr., aka, Ismail M. Shuaib, 68, of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.
He was a 1968 graduate of Riverside High School. Leroy was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church and East Third Street Church of Christ.
Leroy was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Beck Sr., brother, Eric Colen, Sr., maternal and fraternal grandparents, Walter and Mary Towns and Tommy and Bertha Beck.
Survivors include his devoted mother, Carrie L. Beck; devoted son, Korlon (Tony) Murray Beck; granddaughter, DeShayla Murray; brothers, Claybrook Adams, Maynard Beck, Danny (Virginia) Beck, and Mark (Kimberly) Colen; caring sister, Paula Leath; sister-in-law, Deborah Colen; brother-in-law, John Leath; cousin, Yvonne Westfield, Gracelia (Ronnie) Moore, Deborah Allen, Carolyn Boyd, Virginia Daniel, Paulette Ervin and Deborah Ervin; special nephews, Marcus Beck and Depriest Deloney; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He will lie in state on Saturday, Sept. 8, after 12:30 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Alexander Bullard, Sr. as the eulogist.
Burial will be on Monday, Sept. 10, at 10 a.m. in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
