John Timothy “Tim” Shields, age 73, of Dalton, passed away Friday, January 18, 2019 at his residence.
Mr. Shields was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Velma Shields.
He was a member of The Temple of the Lord Church.
Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years, Sherrill Shields of Dalton; sons and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Kelsey Shields of Marietta, and Dustin Shields of Tunnel Hill and fiancé, Haley Bagley of Tennga; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and James Keith of Jefferson, Ga.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Lenora Shields of Ponte-Vedra, Fl., and Barry and Susan Shields of Gainesville, Ga.; and grandchildren, Braxton, Ellie, and Landon Shields.
The funeral service will be held Monday, Jan. 21, at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Shields and Rev. David Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in LaFayette Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, Jan. 20, from 5-9 p.m.
