Gaudie Smith
Gaudie James Smith, 95, of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019, at her residence.
She was a faithful member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. She served as the Sunday School superintendent, on the Usher Board, and Culinary Committee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Felton and Dorothy James; husband Eugene Smith; sisters, Anna (Willie) Brown, and Ruth (William) Moody; brothers, Eddie (Bernice) James, and Charlie (Mae) James.
Survivors include her daughter, Shirley, sons Gary, Harvey, Jimmy, Frank, and David; grandchildren, Renita, Terrious, Dwayne, Kenise, Michael, Cory, David, and Noble; great-granddaughter, Brianna; great-great-granddaughter, Autumn; brother, Hubert (Blondine) James; and a host of nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
Gaudie will lie in state on Monday, Jan. 28, after 1 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with Reverend John Smith as the eulogist.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
