Knox Grace Knocks Off CCS, 38-21

Grace Christian Academy air mailed scores early in both the first and second halves of their game with Chattanooga Christian to cement a 38-21 win over the home-standing Chargers in a Division II-A East Region game Friday night.

Piling up 24 points in the first half the Rams never trailed. Grace completed their scoring with 3:47 to go in the third quarter for a 38-14 lead. CCS added a late fourth quarter score to bring the final tally to 38-21.

Grace’s junior quarterback Cooper Riggs passed for 372 yards, including touchdown strikes of 20, 51, 27, 44 and four yards. Total offense was close as the Rams had 413 to the Chargers’ 360. CCS’s ground attack amassed 246 yards on 47 attempts with Jamichael Baxter and Traveon Scott accounting for most of it with 108 and 97 yards respectively.

The Chargers’ Sam Hall passed for an additional 114 yards.

The Class AA Rams lead the East Region at 6-1, 4-0, while CCS now stands at 3-3, 2-1
