Soddy-Daisy Christmas Parade Scheduled For Sunday, Dec. 1

  • Tuesday, November 19, 2019

The City of Soddy-Daisy invites everyone to join in the fun and festivities of the holiday season at their annual Christmas Parade.  Each year, hundreds of families come together on the first Sunday in December to watch the excitement of the Soddy-Daisy Christmas Parade. This local favorite event will begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 1.

The parade will travel on Dayton Pike from Harrison Lane to Sequoyah Access Road and feature numerous floats, marching bands, dancers, decorated vehicles and a special appearance by Santa Claus.  Floats created by area churches, local businesses and individual groups will compete for first place trophies in each respective category.  To be eligible for judging, an American flag will need to be displayed on the float.

“Soddy-Daisy’s Christmas Parade is one of the greatest ways to get in the holiday spirit and start celebrating the season,” said Robert Cothran, one of the parade’s lead organizers.  “Volunteers from the local Vietnam Veterans of America and members of Sequoyah High J.R.O.T.C. start early that morning making sure everything is in place to organize the floats, bands and all the participants.  They want the parade to run flawlessly.”

The deadline for entry in the Christmas parade is Monday, Nov. 25.  Although there is no entry fee, all donations will benefit Christmas for Kids.

For more information, go to Soddy-Daisy’s website or contact Robert Cothran at 423-718-1735.
