Thompson, John Wesley, Sr. (Rock Spring)

John Wesley Thompson Sr., 85, of Rock Spring, passed away Monday, December 9, 2019.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jean Thompson.

He is survived by his daughter, Debbie (Johnny) Nichols of Chickamauga; sons, John (Debbie) Thompson of Sylvania, Ala., Jimmy (Darlene) Thompson of Dunlap, Tenn., Tommy Thompson and fiancée, Barbie Clowdus, and Daniel (Emily) Thompson all of Rock Spring; brother, Louie (Wanda) Thompson of East Ridge; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastor Wayne Chasteen officiating.

Interment will be private in the family cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
