Mark Edmonds
Mark Edmonds, age 57, of Jasper. passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019 at home with his wife, Carla by his side.
Mark had fought a long, valiant 18 month battle with stage IV lung cancer with brain metastasis, never giving up. Mark was employed as rest area coordinator for Easter Seals for the rest areas in Grundy and Marion counties and he loved his position and the people he worked with and missed little work due to the treatments he was receiving at his own insistence. In fact not many people knew how really sick he was.
Mark was a very talented musician, photographer, late avid studier of the Bible and having read it in its entirety four times in the last 18 months.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruth Edmonds.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of thirty years, Carla Lockwood Edmonds of Jasper; son, Chris (Kayla) Edmonds of South Pittsburg and Cailey Edmonds of Jasper; sister, Glenna Gholston of Sequatchie; and grandson, Drake Edmonds.
Family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. CST, Saturday, Feb. 16.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, in the funeral home chapel with Brother Chris Kilgore and Brother Darrell Nunley officiating. Interment to follow at Lassiter Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hearth Hospice, MJ and Karen. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations sent to South Pittsburg High School Marching Band in memory of Mark Edmonds.
