Lola Virginia Carter, age 84, died on Monday, February 18, 2019 in South Pittsburg, Tennessee. 

She was a faithful Christian and loved her family and friends deeply. She once said, “When the Lord saved me, He filled me up with love, and I just bubble over. I love everyone,” and she did. Lola will be remembered as a cheerful and shining light in her community and church. 

Lola was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Louise (Harris) Fine; and husbands, Jim Smith, Major Carter, and Linwood Harris. 

She is survived by her son, Shan Smith (Sherri); sister, Alma McCully (Bill); niece, George Etta Taylor; and one great-nephew and great-niece.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tn. from 4-7 p.m. CST (5-8 p.m. EST). 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 12 p.m. CST (1 p.m. EST) at Tate Funeral Home Chapel.  

Lola will be laid to rest at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens, Jasper, Tn. 

Arrangements are entrusted to Tate Funeral Home, LLC., 950 Mel Dixon Lane, Jasper, TN 37347.
