Howard Manning
Howard Manning, 82, of Ooltewah, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019.
Howard was born in Chickamauga, July 30, 1936. His parents moved to Chattanooga when he was one year old. He was schooled at Lupton City, Red Bank and Hixson. He entered the U. S. Army in 1953 and served 24 months in Germany with the 8th Infantry. On return home, he enrolled at Kirkman High for three years training under IBPAT Local 226 of Chattanooga where he worked for 23 years, then worked for five years in the Public Works Department of Chattanooga, retiring on Dec. 30, 1998. He was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church where he attended regularly.
Survivors include his wife, Frances N. Manning; son, James B. (Mona) Manning of Ooltewah; sister, Nell Moses of East Ridge; brother, Rev. David J. (Donna) Manning of East Brainerd; and several nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Sunday, Feb. 24, from 4-8 p.m. and Monday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 25, at the funeral home with Reverend Chad Chandler officiating.
Burial will follow at Rocky Face Cemetery in Rocky Face, Ga.
