William Kenemer “Bill” Williamson died on February the 27th at age 91. 

Born at Erlanger Hospital, he was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga.

He was preceded in death by his parents Rev. John Clarke Williamson and Ollie Mae Kenemer Williamson – grandparents; Thomas Lafayette Williamson and Susie Elizabeth Burns Williamson and John Luther Kenemer and Minnie Lee Dobbins Kenemer.

Bill is survived by his sons; Steven Michael Williamson and wife Connie Fine Williamson, Thomas Lee Williamson and wife Regina Ann Borsh.  Grandchildren; Benjamin Michael Williamson and wife Kimberly Winchester Williamson of Brunswick, Maine; Caroline Leigh Williamson of Covington, Louisiana and Alexander Thomas Williamson of Brunswick, Maine and great-grandchild Charlotte Mae Williamson.  Sister Minnie Sue Williamson Crawford and husband John Robert Crawford; nephew John Crawford and family.

Bill attended Sunnyside Elementary, Brainerd Junior High, Central High School, Boys High School and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.  He also attended Berry College in Rome, Georgia.

Bill served in the U. S. Navy as an air crewman during World War II.

Upon his return from the Navy, Bill married Virginia Nunnelly and joined DuPont at the new nylon manufacturing plant in Chattanoog. He worked for the company 37 years until his retirement. He enjoyed travel, boating, telling stories and spending time with his many friends.

Bill was a member of the Alhambra Shrine and York Rite Lodges and a Commander in the U.S. Power Squadron.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, March 4, 2019  at Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Bolton officiating

Burial will be at the Chattanooga  National Cemetery with military honors.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2019 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. and on Monday from 10:30 a.m. till the time of the service at Hamilton Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, or a favorite charity.
