Davis, Joe Brown, Jr. (Chickamauga)

Joe Brown Davis, Jr., 65, of Chickamauga, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2019, from injuries received in a motorcycle accident. He was born in Sylvester, Ga. to Joe Brown and Edna Morse Davis. He was a resident of the Chickamauga area for the last 49 years. Joe was a former member of Liberty Baptist Church and current member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church – Rossville. He was a retired Navy veteran and currently worked in maintenance at Siskins Steel. Joe was a member of Southern Cruisers Riding Club Chapter 34 of Chattanooga, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a jack of all trades who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. 

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his uncle, Dan Morse. 

Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Karen Renee Thomison Davis; their children, Joe (Eden) Davis and Tiffany (Jeremy) Turner; siblings, Betty Hicks, Bonnie Henderson, Beth Smithwick, Linda (Mike Poucher) Davis, Paul Davis and Frankie (Angel) Davis, all of South Georgia; grandchildren, Emerald, Reece and Harrison Davis, Danny Phillips, Max, Luke and Lillian Turner; close friend, Jerry Lynn; and several nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, 2-8 p.m. on Friday and after 11 a.m. prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 27 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel, with Brother Larry Underwood and Brother Barry Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park. 

The family will accept flowers, but would like memorial contributions made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr. Tampa, Fl. 33607.
