John “Chunky” Quincy Young, 80, a longtime resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on April 22, 2019, at his home in Cleveland, surrounded by his family.

John worked for Hall Chevrolet for over 40 years before his retirement. John was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and he loved nothing more than to spend time with his family especially at the river. John was an active communicant member of the First Lutheran Church. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Willie Vera Young; brothers Harold Young and Paul Young.

Left behind to cherish his memory is his loving wife, JoAnn Young; daughters Kathy Johnson (James) and Carol Logan (Tony); sister Aileen McDowell; grandchildren Hannah Johnson, Stephanie Johnson, Melodey Fields (Clayton), Connor Logan, Michael Logan and many nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 27, from 3-4 p.m. with a celebration of life service to follow at The First Lutheran Church in Cleveland, officiated by Reverend Robert Seaton, 195 McIntire Ave. NE Cleveland, TN 37312. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or First Lutheran Church in Cleveland.

The family would also like to give a special thanks to Kindred Hospice, Guardians Home Health and Sharon Adult Center of Cleveland for their kindness, help and support.
