Howard Fluellen
Mr. Howard Fluellen, Jr., 91, transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Friday evening, May 24, 2019.
He was a faithful member of the Mount Calvary Baptist Church where he served as chairman of the deacon board for many years. He was formerly a member of the Westside Baptist Church and served on the usher board and the transportation ministry. He retired from the Hamilton County School system, serving as a bus driver for many years; he eventually owned his own school bus.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Fluellen; two sons, Nathaniel and Kenneth; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He leaves to cherish his memory three, sons, Jimmy (Jacqueline), Howard (Linda), and Melvin (Ann) Fluellen; daughter, Millenese Fluellen, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and special friend, Nora Huddleson.
Mr. Fluellen will lie in state beginning at noon on Friday, May 31, at the funeral home, and the family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday, June 1, at Westside Baptist Church with Pastor Timothy Careathers officiating.
Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
