This spring women from across the Chattanooga area raised their hammers at a Habitat for
Humanity construction site in Alton Park to help build a dream home for local resident Vanester Steele and her two teenage children.
"During their second year of participation in National Women Build Week, members and staff of the Home Builders Association of Greater Chattanooga once again worked together to help build affordable housing in a local community," officials said.
In addition to raising a new home, eleven women of HBAGC also raised over $6,400 to benefit local Habitat for Humanity efforts.
Those participants were: Cynthia Blackwell, Nicole Gosciniak, Patty Becknell, Jill McLean, Casey Tanner, Karen Delgado, Brenda Boudry, Marcia Petty, Brandi Thompson, Holly Walsh and Melanie Reeves.
