Marvin Davis
Marvin Edward Davis, Sr., 51, of Chattanooga, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2019.
He attended Howard High School and was on the All-American Football Team, Basketball Team, Baseball Team and Track Team. He graduated with the class of 1985 and went on to attend Benedict College. Marvin was a member of Howard Alumni and was the football coach for the Woodmore Dolphins. He was a member of St. Elmo Missionary Baptist Church.
Marvin was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Bragg; father, James Davis; nephew, Elton Hall; and cousin, April Fallins.
Survivors include his sons, Marvin E. (Alicia) Davis, Jr., Marvin D. Davis, and Cortez Davis, all of Chattanooga; daughters, Jalonnie Mack, Crystal Clark, both of Chattanooga, and Tailor Bates-Davis of Jacksonville, FL; 12 grandchildren; brothers, Richard (Cathy) Bragg and James Davis, Jr., both of Chattanooga; sisters, Lisa Bragg, Tracy Brown, Carol Geter, LaShanda Davis, and LaTonya Davis, all of Chattanooga; uncles, Freddie Fallins of Chattanooga, Jackie (Emma) Fallins of Atlanta, GA, and Larry (Wardena) Fallins of California; aunts, Elaine Fallins, Melissa Fallins, and Phyllistine Spearman, all of Chattanooga; cousins, Glenda Carter and Marvin Fallins; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; best friend, Chris Jones; special friends, Tynescha Bailey and Marcia Watkins and many others.
A memorial service will be on Sunday, July 28, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Freddie Fallins as the eulogist and Pastor Ron King assisting.
