James Howard
James "Jim" Howard, 79, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2019, at home.
Jim worked as a masonry specialist for several years for Chip Catlett as a foreman. He was raised in North Georgia and graduated from Lakeview High School where he played football and was Georgia All State End. He was an avid bass fisherman along with his best friends, Paul Cordell and Punk Pollard. Jim was a longtime member of Lupton Drive Baptist Church, where he was a member of Paires and Spares Sunday school class and was the class president.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby and James Howard; son, Greg Howard.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Jean Howard; daughter, Robin (Monroe) Johnson; son, Glen Howard; two grandchildren, Chad Howard , Lea Holcomb; one great grandson, Abram Howard; sister, Barbara (Jim) Kirkland, Joyce (Paul) Tatum of Phoenix, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, at Lupton Drive Baptist Church, 859 Lupton Dr., Chattanooga, with Pastor Dustin Taylor and Pastor Roger DeHeart officiating. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Garden South.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 31, from 10:30 a.m. till the time of the service at Lupton Drive Baptist Church, 859 Lupton Dr., Chattanooga.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Jim Howard to Lupton Drive Baptist Church.
