Skates, Lola Idell Greene (LaFayette)

Lola Idell Greene Skates, 83, of LaFayette, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2020.

She was a member of the LaFayette Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Garvin Skates Sr.; parents, James Monroe Greene and Reo Cleo Dodson Greene; five sisters; and one brother.

She is survived by her daughter, Freda (Leslie) Shadrick of Leoma, Tenn.; sons, Garvin (Sue) Skates of LaFayette, Lane (Gina) Skates of Summerville, and Phil Skates of Decatur, Ala.; grandchildren, Jeremy (Amanda) Skates, Jill (Justin) Yates, Jacob (Miranda) Shadrick, Caleb (Megan) Shadrick, Kyle Shadrick, Melissa (Tony) Hust, Holly Skates, Jerrica (Charlton) Rhinehart, and Stacy Hurley; 16 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16, at the LaFayette Church of Christ with Minister David Paden officiating.

Interment will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and on Thursday an hour prior to the service at the church.
