Council Accepting Applications For Court Of Appeals Opening In Eastern Grand Division

The Governor’s Council for Judicial Appointments is now accepting applications for the Court of Appeals vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Charles D. Susano, Jr., effective April 30, 2020. 
 
Any interested applicant must be a licensed attorney who is at least 30 years of age, a resident of the state for five years and a resident of the Eastern Tennessee Grand Division. Applicants must complete the designated application, including at least two examples of legal writings, and submit it to the Administrative Office of the Courts no later than Tuesday, Feb.
4 at noon CST/1 p.m. EST. The application is available on the judicial resources page of tncourts.gov, located here.  
 
Candidates will be interviewed in the Eastern Tennessee Grand Division at a date, time and location set by the Governor’s Council for Judicial Appointments in the future.  The meeting will include a public hearing, during which members of the public may express any objections to any applicants. The interview, which will directly follow the public hearing, is also open to the public.
