Chattanooga Democratic Socialists, Concerned Citizens For Justice To Hold Brake Light Repair Clinic

  • Thursday, October 22, 2020
Volunteers from the Chattanooga chapter of Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and Concerned Citizens for Justice (CCJ) will host a brake light repair clinic on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot of the 23rd Street Food City.

Interested members of the community may bring their cars to have any standard light bulbs, front or rear, replaced for free.  The event is intended "to help prevent unnecessary traffic stops and to draw attention to the disproportionate policing of black, brown, and working class communities."

Both groups are members of the Community Control Now Coalition, and will be gathering signatures for a ballot measure to create a new Civilian Oversight Board for the Chattanooga Police Department.
