Maureen Malone Shipp entered the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 19, 2020, surrounded by her loved ones.

 

Maureen was born on November 2, 1939. She grew up in Pittsburgh, Pa., and graduated from Mount Lebanon High School as well as Seton Hill University.

 

She worked as a chemist for BASF in Quality Control for 25 years in Chattanooga, and served as the Examining Chair for Certification by the American Society for Quality Control. She was a faithful member of Covenant Presbyterian Church for over 20 years where she attended the Perseverers Sunday School Class.

 

Maureen was passionate about spending time with her children, grandchildren, and her many friends, as well as traveling, and reading.

 

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas Shipp; parents, Frank and Ann Malone; and brother, Francis “Bud” Malone.

 

She is survived by her son, Dr. James F. Hart of Mobile, AL; daughter, Marianne Hart Greene of Ringgold, GA; grandson, Nathan Greene of Washington D.C.; granddaughters, Hannah Faith Greene of College Station, TX and Trinity Greene of Ringgold, GA. She is also survived by her step-children, Pamela Duvall of Calhoun, GA and Jeffrey Shipp of Mt. Juliet, TN as well as their respective children.

 

Memorial contributions can be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church, 8451 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.

 

A graveside service will be held on Monday, Nov. 23, at 2:30 p.m. at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Eric Mullinax officiating.
