William Turner
William Darrell Turner, 87, of Cleveland, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2020, in a local hospital, after a brief illness.
He was retired from Magic Chef/Whirlpool with over 40 years of service. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War, and was very proud of his military service to his country. He was an active member of Woodman of the World. He was a longtime member of Chestuee United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Helen Ann Turner; parents, Warren and Maude Turner; siblings Thomas Turner, Vivian Hall, and Theron Turner.
Survivors include his son, Ralph Turner and Tena Wilson of Cleveland, daughter, Margaret Ridge and husband, Michael Sr. of Georgetown; grandchildren, Michael Ridge Jr. and wife Emily of Cleveland, Meghan Caldwell and husband, Robby of Memphis, Olivia Todd of Seymour, and Mariena Chae’ Wilson of Cleveland; great-grandson, Gabriel Todd of Seymour; siblings, Imogene Moonyham, Rebecca Burchfield, Edward Turner, and Dianne Brown; several special nieces and nephews also survive.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24, at Fike-Randolph and Son with the Reverend Tom Wickes officiating. Interment will follow in Chestuee United Methodist Church cemetery with full military honors.
His family will receive friends on Tuesday, Nov. 24, from 2-3 p.m. at the funeral home.
