TSWA Names Six Local Golfers To All-State Team

State Champs Baylor Lands Three Picks, Signal Mountain Has One; Runner-up McCallie Has Two Signal Moun

Baylor, this year’s state champions for both boys and girls, led the local area with three players named to the 2020 Tennessee Sportswriters Association All-State Golf team.

The Red Raiders placed  Sheldon McKnight on the boy’s  team in Division II-AA. McKnight tied for first at the state championships with a two-under score. He was joined by the Lady Red Raiders’ Elvia Rastvortseva and Stephanie Xian on the girl’s team.

State runner-up McCallie’s Carter Sayman and Bennett McNabb were also named to the DII-AA squad, while Beck Lewis of Signal Mountain was honored as a member of the Division I Small Class team.
Lewis led his Eagles’ team to the small class state championship with a two under par third place finish.
