Sam Watkins
Sam Watkins, 69, of Chattanooga, transitioned to his eternal rest on Friday, December 4, 2020, in a local hospital.
He was a 1969 graduate of Riverside High School. He was a member of Brother’s by Choice and formerly employed with STS. Sam was a member of Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Richardson; mother, Louise Watkins; and sister, Elizabeth Pope.
Survivors include his daughter, Kenya Watkins; grandson, Kendall Solomon; sisters, Charlene Williams and Gloria Jarrett; a host of other relatives and friends.
Sam will lie in state on Thursday, Dec. 10, from 12:30-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Family service will be on Friday, Dec. 11, at 3 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Anthony Williams as the eulogist.
Burial will be on Saturday, Dec. 12, at 11 a.m. in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
