Ralph O. Williams, Jr., 91, of Chattanooga, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020.
He was a 1948 graduate of Red Bank High School and a member of the Hall of Fame. He retired from Dupont where he worked for 37 years. He was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church.
He was a 67-year member of Red Bank Masonic Lodge 717F&AM where he served as Master in 1999. He also served as president of the Temple Board. He was a member of Betsy Ross Chapter OES. He was a member of Chattanooga Scottish Rite. He was a member of Alhambra Shrine where he served as Potentate in 1991. He was on the directors staff for 30 years and served on the board of Governors of Shrine Directors of North America. He was a past president of the Half Century Club and past president of the Hamilton County Square and Compass Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph O. Sr. and Ruby Brewer Williams; sister, Francis Williams Powell.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Evelyn Sneed Williams; brother-in-law, Bill (JoAnn) Sneed; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, and 1-2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9, at Lane Funeral Home ~ Ashland Terrace. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday in the Coulter Chapel with Hoyt Samples officiating. Masonic services will be conducted by Red Bank Masonic Lodge 717 F&M.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Red Bank Masonic Lodge or Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
