Charles Edward “Ed” Talley, 97, of East Ridge, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2020.  

He was of the Baptist faith and was retired as an engineer from the Chattanooga Fire Department after 25 years of service. Ed was a veteran of the U.S. Army and an excellent story teller.

Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Talley and a daughter, Carol Bradley.

Survivors include two granddaughters, K. Diedra Philpott and Stacy Philpott; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Dr. Jimmy Spurling officiating. There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Forgotten Child Fund, P.O. Box 5932, Chattanooga, Tn. 37406.
