Cloise Betty Cox Hendrix
Cloise Betty Cox Hendrix, 88, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, March 30, 2020 in a local healthcare facility.
She was a member of Olivet Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board and Mother’s Ministry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William McDonald; sons, Jeffery Lavendar, Paul Lavendar, and Kenneth Lavendar; granddaughter, Bethur Whitakker; grandson, Reginald Ballard; father, Roy Dye; mother, Queenie Brooks; aunts, Willie Mae Copeland and Cora Mae Goodson.
Survivors include her sons, Eric (Monita) Cox, Frederick Cox, and Bonzie (Dorothy) Lavendar; daughters, Belinda (Anthony) Whitakker, Shirley Brown, Melissa Shropshire (Emery) King, and Sharon Cox (Rodney) Earvin, brother, Charles Brooks; a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; special caregiver, LaTondra Kelley; and other relatives and friends.
Cloise will lie in state Thursday, April 2, after 12:30 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Burial will be Friday, April 3, in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
