Carol Timm Booker Serre, of Hixson, Tennessee, passed away peacefully April 4, 2020, with family by her side.

Timm was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, James Dominick Serre and her parents, Steven Thomas Booker and Dorothy Schroeppel Booker.

She is survived by her three children, Eric, Angela and Todd; two grandsons, Jeremiah Serre (Joanna) and Jacob Serre and one great-granddaughter, Haley Grace Serre. She is also survived by her brother, Steve Booker; sister-in-law, Sharon Serre Smith; several nieces and nephews; beloved friends, Debbie Maples, Pam Andrews and Paul Sikorski along with a host of other relatives and friends across the U.S.

A Millikin University graduate with a master's degree in elementary education, she devoted her time and passion to teaching third grade at St Jude Catholic School in Hixson, from where she retired in 2002. Timm donated so much of her time to charity work with Beta Sigma Phi women's sorority where she received Outstanding Young Woman of America from her Alpha Xi Chapter. She volunteered at The Birth Defects Center, The March of Dimes Mother's March as co-chair and Mocassin Bend State Hospital.

Timm loved her family, teaching, traveling, UT Football with Pam Andrews, the beach, swimming, spending Wednesday evenings with the Bunko Babes and the Mama Mia soundtrack. She enjoyed the simple things in life: accompanying Jim to his beloved dog trials, grading her students' papers, catching a movie on a Sunday afternoon and reading books of all kinds. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the kind-hearted sta_ of Dominion Senior Living in Hixson and Hearth Hospice for all of their support. Thank you to caregivers Sheila White and Rhonda Yeargen for their incredible compassion.

Be kind to our senior citizens and please donate to the Alzheimer's Association in her name for their continued research.

Private services held at this time. The family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Arrangements are held by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
