William “Darnell” Stewart, 78, of Old Fort, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2020 at home.
He was a member of Ball Play Baptist Church. William spent his years as a press operator at Maytag. He had a love for hunting, spending time with his friends and family. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Nora Stewart; his parents; beloved son, Roy Stewart; and siblings, Lee Stewart, Tom Stewart, Paul Stewart and Betty Stewart.
Survivors include his three children, Allen (Robin) Stewart, Chris (Amanda) Stewart and Tracy (Linda) Stewart; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Silas Stewart, Reba, Elizabeth (Roger) Silvers and Barbara; and many nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3 at Ball Play Baptist Church Cemetery, with Pastor Charles Moore officiating.
Matthew Stewart, Christopher Stewart, Jeremy Stewart, Isaiah Stewart, Keith Stewart and Wesley Stewart will serve as pallbearers.
