Chattanooga Charter School Receives Classroom Grant

  • Thursday, September 24, 2020

Sarah McCune, English teacher at the upper campus of the Chattanooga Charter School of Excellence has received a $500 Helen Pouch Memorial Classroom Grant from the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.

Ms. McCune applied on the grant because her students were asking for a Theatre Club. They are currently experimenting with a zoom performance with several students assisting Ms. McCune with the writing. The script is inspired by the phrase, "six feet apart."

If possible, students will visit a local theatre and learn about the impact of live theatre.

The Theatre Club is now part of the club selections at the school. Ms. McCune was sponsored by the Chickamauga Chapter of Chattanooga.
