Frank J. Currie, 82, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021. 

He was born in Port Huron, Mi., on March 22, 1938, to Raymond and Margaret Currie.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Raymond, John, and Jim Currie. 

He attended St. Stephen High School and Port Huron Junior College.  Mr. Currie worked for Mueller Brass Company and Schoenberger Company as a sales representative and later as an energy lighting consultant.  He was a long-time member of St. Jude Catholic Church and upon retirement he and his wife traveled full time in their RV.  He made friends wherever he was and will be remembered for his “gift of gab.”  He had an uncanny ability to fix anything and a tool for every purpose.  His grandchildren were the delight of his life and he had a special nickname for each of them.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth Currie; children, Kathy (Doug) Martin, Susan (Danny) Philpott, David Currie, Sheila Gwaltney, and Karen (Steve) Spreha; grandchildren , Patrick, Jack and Maggie Martin, Nick and Colin Philpott, Lauren Clemons, Alicia and William Gwaltney, Katie Smith, Cameron Blankenship and Joey, Matt, and Sam Spreha; great-granddaughter, Emma Philpott.  Mr. Currie is also survived by his sister, Alicia Riegal of Greeneville, SC; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe and Sian Slowinski of Alexandria, LA; sister-in-law, Joan Currie of Melbourne Beach, FL

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, Jan. 21, at 11 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church. 

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to St. Jude Catholic School, 930 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, Tn. 37415.
