Yvonne Stone Stephenson, was born on August 19, 1934, and passed away peacefully on October 10, 2021, at McKendree Manor in Nashville, Tennessee. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mamie and Cecil Stone, her two sisters, Nadine Eaton and Alline Simmons, and her husband, Jim Stephenson.

 

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Alan Stephenson, daughter-in-law, Donna Stephenson, two grandsons, Reed and Ben Stephenson (Kara), and great-granddaughters, Pace and Charley, nephew, Steve Lowery, niece, Sonja Trusley, their children, and all her friends.

 

Yvonne loved her hometown of Chattanooga.  She and Jim were members of the First Baptist Church.  They enjoyed many years of participation in the Senior Games. She won multiple medals playing table tennis, but the friendships and social connections were more important than the competition.

 

A public graveside service will be held at the Chattanooga National Cemetery on Tuesday, Oct. 19, at 2 p.m.

 

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
