Chattanooga Echelon, a service organization of young professionals who promote and support The Salvation Army through networking, events, volunteer projects and fundraisers, has appointed Kyle Briner, supervisor at HHM CPAs, as its next chapter president.

Tripp Thurston, vice president of commercial banking at BancorpSouth and former chapter president, stepped down from the position in September after serving for three years.

He will serve on the board as a general member.

“Echelon, like other service organizations, thrives through engagement,” said Mr. Thurston. “Engaging early to mid-career professionals in the Chattanooga area in the work of the Salvation Army is the reason we formed Echelon. As we continue to grow, Echelon has the opportunity to benefit not only from Kyle’s heart for service, as we have over the last few years, but now also from Kyle’s engaged interest in leading the organization in this next chapter for Echelon. This natural evolution builds on Kyle’s leadership seen in our Bacon & Boxers events in the Spring and two-part Run with Reason projects each holiday season. I am excited about what he has planned as he steps into this role.”

Mr. Briner has served on the board since 2018 as the service chair. During his time in the role, he founded the premier fundraising event, Run with Reason, raising over $40,000 for the Angel Tree Program. In his new position as president, Mr. Briner will provide supervision for the board and develop, implement and oversee the board’s projects.
