Mary Clark
Mary Elizabeth (Tipton) Clark, 72, of Evensville, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at her home.
She was born in Rhea County on Dec. 1, 1948, the daughter of the late Dennis and Martha (Massey) Tipton. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Charles Tipton and Neal Tipton.
Mary was a lifelong resident of Rhea County and was a 1966 graduate of Rhea Central High School. For over 20 years she was employed as a supervisor with Kayser-Roth and then in the custodial department of the Rhea County High School. She enjoyed playing softball, traveling, especially to the beach and rescuing animals of all kinds.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Stanley Clark of Evensville; her three daughters, Angela (Matthew) Jenkins of Pikeville, Melissa (Michael) McPherson of Dayton and Stephanie (Lawrence) Howard of Dayton; her sister, Jeanette Scott of Greeneville; four brothers, Russell (Glenna) Tipton and Marion (Charlotte) Tipton both of Dayton, Ralph (Delores) Tipton of Cadiz, KY, and Richard (Marjorie) Tipton of Evensville. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mary will be held on Saturday, March 20, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald officiating. She will be laid to rest in Buttram Cemetery in Dayton.
