Walter Blanks
Walter “Beach Boy” Blanks, Jr., 66, of Chattanooga, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, in a local hospital.
He was a 1974 graduate of Chattanooga Central High School. He continued his education at Chattanooga State and Virginia College and received his associate degree. Walter was a member of Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church. He retired from North Park Hospital as an X-Ray technician.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter R. Blanks; grandparents, Nancy Jernigan, Earvin and Virginia Blanks.
Survivors include his mother, Minnie Blanks of Chattanooga; brother, James “Rickey” (Gaddie) Blanks of Ringgold; uncle, Abdul Musa Wir of Harrison; a host of nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Walter will lie in state on Wednesday, March 10, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
A family service will follow at noon in the chapel with Brother Jimmie Ingram as the eulogist. Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
