Lane Trueblood

Our beloved Lane Nicholls Trueblood left this world on February 19, 2021, to now shine his light in heaven.

He was born on May 10, 2000, as our millennial child, the first of three amazing children that blessed the Trueblood home.  He was so very loved by his family and friends with his enduring smile and magical laugh that touched so many along his all too short life journey.

Lane was fascinated by technology and had an amazing gift of being able to create, design and repair electronics and anything mechanical.  He was adventurous and always excited to ride the fastest rollercoaster, climb the highest mountain and had no fear.  He was curious and loving and he had a passion for seeing the world one day and exploring every corner.  At an early age, his talents and pitch perfect voice were showcased in many musicals and plays. Those gifts continued to be highlighted by performing with the Chattanooga Boys Choir which then took him onward to Nashville and all across Canada.

Lane was mischievous and fun.  His true intellect would engage you for hours as he shared his ideas, his thoughts and his dreams.  He made you laugh without trying and then would get so caught up in all and just laugh with you.  He had a spirit that shined so bright that it would take over any room he entered.  His special bond with his grandmother, fondly known as Gigi – a name that he started because he couldn’t quite say Granny.  It gives us peace to know that they are now together looking over us all and guiding us on our path.

Lane is survived by his sister, Lexi Trueblood, brother, Luke Trueblood and his parents, Dan and Denise Trueblood of McDonald, Tn.

He is loved and will be missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends from around the country.

Family and friends of Lane Nicholls Trueblood are invited to his memorial service at First Presbyterian Church at 433 North Ocoee Street, Cleveland, Tn. 37311 beginning at 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 1. Church space is limited so please consider wearing a mask.  Following the service beginning at 6:30 p.m., a celebration of Lane’s life will be held at the Trueblood’s home, 292 Bridgewater Drive, McDonald, Tn. 37353.  Some of Lane’s favorite foods will be served.

Dress for both events is casual.  The family is requesting in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Lane Nicholls Trueblood Memorial Foundation.  The Foundation is utilizing the funding to support efforts to increase Mental Health awareness, provide family support, and scholarships.  Your donation can be made on-line through “GoFundMe.com” or mail a check to “Lane Nicholls Trueblood Memorial Foundation” at 292 Bridgewater Drive, McDonald, TN 37353.  All donations are tax deductible.

His starring role as the infamous George Bailey of “It’s a Wonderful Life” spoke of the realization that he had a place in this world by saying,“Strange isn’t it?  Each man’s life touches so many other lives.  And when he isn’t around, he leaves an awful hole, doesn’t he?”

“Always loved. Never forgotten. Forever missed.”
