Teague, Lonnie (Cleveland)
Lonnie Teague, 73, of Cleveland, departed this life on Saturday morning, April 17, 2021 at his residence. Born in Athens, he grew up in Tellico Plains and lived the majority of his life in Bradley County. Lonnie was a member of Mercy Baptist Church in Ooltewah and was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving during Vietnam. Lonnie was previously employed at Bowater and Vonore Pulp Wood Yard and first and foremost loved his Savior, Jesus Christ, loved his country, loved his family, always putting them first before himself, loved watching wildlife and “his” humming birds, and enjoyed life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Blanche Morris Teague.
Left behind to cherish Lonnie’s memory are his loving wife, LaWenda Teague; son, Jamie Teague; daughter, Amy Kiser and husband, Matthew; grandchildren, Bradley, Brandon, Haley, Hannah, Abby and Max; sister, Joni Johnson; brother, Ricky Teague (Marlene); several great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephew, extended family and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Life and Home going for Lonnie Eugene Teague will be conducted on Friday, April 23 from the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home, with Pastor Greg Banther officiating.
Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 24 at Gray’s Cemetery in Tellico Plains for the committal service, concluded by military honors.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
