Mildred Chadwick
Mildred Anita Fugate Chadwick went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, May 5, 2021.
Mildred was the daughter of the late William “Bill” and Lura Fugate, born in Pikeville, Tn., on July 15, 1945, and was raised in Evensville, Tn. She retired from DuPont with 37 years of service. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church.
Mildred enjoyed many hobbies, including cooking, baking, gardening and yard work, hiking, and loved helping others. She was a volunteer for many years at Memorial North Park Hospital. She was especially proud of the fact that they had traveled to all 50 states and five foreign countries. Most important to her was her family and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Billy Fugate and sister-in-law, Gudrun Fugate; sister, Loretta Bridwell and brother-in-law, Dean Bridwell.
Survivors include her husband, John T. Chadwick; brother, Earl Fugate (Polly) of Evensville, Tn.; brother, Wayne Fugate (Martha) of Aiken, SC; brother, Tommy Fugate (Geraldine) of Evensville, Tn.; sister, Charlotte Green (Ronnie) of Greeneville, Tn.; special nephews and niece, Ken, Scott, and Bernice Fugate; and many more nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 7, from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday, May 8, from 2-4 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson.
The funeral service will be in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, May 8, at 4 p.m. with Pastor Alan Rogers officiating. Interment will be private at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
