Harold Boring
Harold Boring, age 91, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Boring; daughter, Janet Boring Bandy; brothers, Jim Boring and Kenneth Boring; and a sister, JoAnn Boyd.
Harold had a career in the crushed stone business spanning over 50 years, working for the Lambert Brothers, Dalton Rock Products, and Vulcan materials.
He was an avid bird hunter, excellent sawyer, a farrier and was an outstanding marksman. He was 51 years sober, an active participant in Alcoholics Anonymous, spreading the gift of sobriety to others who reached out for it.
He is survived by his son, Johnny Boring of Sandy Springs; one grandchild, Blaie Bandy Duckett; great-grandchildren, Avalyn Ann Duckett and Jacklyn Eleanor Duckett; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Friday, June 11, at 1 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Storey and Rev. Stacey Hensley officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, June 11, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Burial will be at Chilhowie Baptist Church Cemetery in Happy Valley, Tn.
