Ronald Pitman Bryan, 89, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2021, at his daughter’s residence in Benton. He was a native of Fulton County in the state of Georgia.
During the Korean War, Ronald achieved the rank of corporal in the U.S. Army and was a decorated member who honorably served his country.
Ronald was married to Winona Hester Bryan for 64 years. After many years of working for Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company as an air-tool specialist, he was able to retire and move to his retirement home in Clermont, Ga. During his retirement, he enjoyed his many hobbies, including buying, refurbishing and selling antiques.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. Many friends have enjoyed freshwater trout caught by Ronald from the many scenic rivers in North Georgia. Many dogs found a home in the Bryan household, and each could count on a warm welcoming lap from Ronald.
Over his lifetime, he continuously supported several charitable children’s organizations.
In addition to his wife, Winona Hester Bryan, Ronald was also preceded in death by his parents, Alton Morris Bryan and Jimmie Kate Pitman Bryan and brothers, Kenneth Bryan and Leonard Bryan.
Left to honor his legacy include his beloved daughters and their spouses, Kay Bryan (Harvey) Chatham and Jennifer Bryan (Dr. Terry) Bishop; granddaughters, Christina Chatham (Justin Roberts)) and Katelyn Chatham; step-granddaughter, Lara Bishop (Kevin) Newman; and three step-great-great-grandchildren, Landry Newman, Annslee Newman and Hadlyn Newman.
A Celebration of Life graveside service with military honors will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 4 at Holly Hills Memorial Park, 359 SW Broad St., Fairburn, Ga. 30213, with Russell Bishop officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tn. 38105.
