The Bradley girls travelled South of the border Saturday afternoon and left a previously undefeated Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe dealing with its first pangs of loss, steamrolling the Warriors, 69-41. Three Bearettes combined for 10 three-pointers in the victory.
Utilizing a strong second quarter in which the Bearettes outscored LFO, 17-4, Bradley went into the locker room at the half with a 35-21 lead, this after leading by only one at the end of the first quarter. The Bearettes (18-2) would go on to put up a 34-20 margin in the second half to gain the win.
Hannah Jones poured in 27 points to lead Bradley, while Karsee Weber added 14, on the strength of four baskets from long-range, and Erika Swick 11. Christina Collins scored 13 for the Warriors and Christen Collins chipped in with 12.
The Bearettes held a slight edge in rebounds, 43-40, but still managed to gain a 18-12 margin in second chance points, as well as grabbing an 18-8 edge in points off the fast break. Ashlan Crittenden pulled down nine boards for Bradley.
