Tyrone Rivers
Tyrone M. "Roney" Rivers, 70, passed away on January 10, 2022, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
He was born to Laura Rivers Eubanks. He was a 1970 graduate of Riverside High School in Chattanooga. He attended UTC where he studied Criminal Justice. He was a 1974 U.S. Navy veteran. He was previously employed at Erlanger Medical Center, U.S. Postal Service, and played Santa for the Salvation Army.
Tyrone attended New Jerusalem Baptist Church, where he was a male chorus member and usher. Tyrone loved fishing, going to church, all types of music, singing with his mother, cooking, driving, and caring for all the kids on Carousel. He was a virtuous man, loyal, honest, dependable, and admirable. He was always there for his family. You could always call Tyrone.
He will be loved and missed by everyone.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Zachary D. Oliver, Sr; and Gerald Linder; nephew, Xavier D. Oliver.
Tyrone leaves to cherish in his memory, mother, Laura Rivers Eubanks; one sister, Dena D. Burks, of Chattanooga, TN; four brothers, Travis (Priscilla) Titwell Rivers, Sr., Todd Linder, Will Linder, all of Chattanooga, and Kerwin (Deanna) Rivers, of Rock Island, IL; and dear aunt, Erma Jean Morris, of Chattanooga; and a host of dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Public viewing will be held from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 2, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, followed by a noon funeral service in the chapel.
Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
