Tijuana Gilmore
Tijuana “Tia” “Wannie” Gilmore, 79, of Spring City, Tennessee, died on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Spring City Care and Rehabilitation.
She was born on March 8, 1943 in Ruston, Louisiana and has been living in this area since 2002. Tijuana graduated in class of 1961 at Killeen Texas High School. She then later attended Stephen F. Foster State College in Nacogdoches, Texas. Tijuana worked for the State of Tennessee Department of Child Services. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. Tijuana loved quilting, scrapbooking, and canning. She was very conscience of other people and their needs. Tijuana was a member of Spring City United Methodist Church.
Tijuana was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Alcibee Butler Davis, and her step brother, Ronnie Tharpe.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Gary Gilmore of Spring City, Tennessee; children, Angela Moffett of Spring City and Phillips (Kim) Gilmore of Dunlap; sister Barbara Hutto of Damascus, Arkansas; grandchildren Christopher Gilmore, Jacob, Josh, and Jeremy Moffett; and great grandchildren Blakely, Isla, Anniston, and Millie Moffett.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, Dec. 4, at 3 p.m. at Spring City United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. before the services.
