Glenn “Dreamer” Vines, 83, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022.

Glenn was employed with Swift & Company, where his co-workers were like his family, and he was incredibly proud to serve as Union Steward. However, he eventually retired from Brock Candy Company, where he was employed for 18 years. Glenn was an amazing pencil artist and poet. He was even commissioned to draw several wall murals when he was employed with Brock Candy Company. He had an extremely vivid imagination, often sketching from his dreams. Glenn was also an avid nature lover. Watching deer, turkey, and birds of all kinds, especially hummingbirds, was one of his favorite pastimes. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Glenn will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia “Rita” Vines; daughter, Anita Lynn Cagle; parents, Grady and Annie Mae Vines; brothers, Edward Vines, Richard Vines, David Vines and Billy Vines, and sister, Magalene Drinnon.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Judy Vines; son, Glenn Vines, Jr. (Wendy); daughters, Kathy Burton (Rick), Donica Branum (Norman), Rena Gribble (Trey Prestwood) and Selena Shavers (Tim); children, Charles Short, Tonya Short, and William Jinx; sister, Ruth Jones, as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home at Highway 58. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Brother Mike Manning officiating.

Glenn will be laid to rest in Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park.
