McKamey Animal Center Brings Fee-Waived Adoptions To Chattanooga All Month Long

  • Tuesday, June 28, 2022

McKamey Animal Center announces its latest adoption special - fee-waived adoptions for the entire month of July.

In an effort to find homes for as many animals as possible, MAC will be waiving adoption fees for all animals – adults to puppies and kittens, and everything in between, for the entire month of July.

"This is only made possible thanks to generous donors and national partners such as PetSmart and the Bissell Foundation who help to offset the adoption fees through national programs and sponsorships," officials said.

Starting July 1, MAC will waive adoption fees for all adoptable animals. From July 11-17, MAC will be participating in PetSmart National Adoption Week with adoptable animals visiting the Hixson PetSmart daily. Additionally, starting July 18, MAC will be participating in the Bissell Foundation’s summer event, Empty the Shelters, which runs through the remainder of the month.

“We have so many wonderful animals looking for loving homes to call their own,” said Director of Advancement Lauren Mann. “Having partners like PetSmart, Bissell and our private donors helping to support this adoption event is absolutely incredible. We are all so grateful at MAC for their support.”

Every dog and cat adoption from McKamey Animal Center includes the animal being spayed or neutered (altered/fixed), up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped and more. Adoption fees typically range anywhere from $50 to $200, depending on the animals’ age, breed and species.

This adoption special does not cover City license fees, leashes, collars and carriers for animals.

To view adoptable animals, visit www.mckameyanimalcenter.org/available-pets or visit MAC in person. MAC is open Tuesday through Friday from noon-6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

All adoptions are done on a first-come, first-served basis. For questions regarding an adoptable animal, call 423-305-7141 to speak to a MAC adoption counselor.
