Charlie Luther Ivey, Jr., 88, of Rossville, formerly of Trenton, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Ivey was a 1951 graduate of Davis High School, attended Edmondson School of Business, Snead College and Clear Creek Baptist College. He had pastored churches in Georgia, Tennessee and Virginia, and before ministering, he was employed with U.S. Pipe & Foundry.
Mr. Ivey was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Luther Ivey, Sr. and Annie Kirby Ivey; daughter, Anita Ivey; sisters, Willadean Patton, Thelma Gray and Edith Lane; brother, Alton Ivey; and grandson, Seth Pitre.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Carol Johnson Ivey; daughters, Cheryl Ivey, of Rossville, Donna “Punkin” (Tom) Edwards, of Bristol, Va. and Tammy (Allen) Neely, of Soddy Daisy; son, David (Kathy) Ivey, of Ooltewah; sister, Jane (Donald) Moreland, of Trenton; brother, Jack (Alma) Ivey, of Trenton; grandchildren, Sarah, Bradley, Jonathan, Anita, Christian, Adam, Rebecca, Leslie and Jessica; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 9 at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Tom Edwards & Rev. Clay Moreland officiating. Interment will follow in New Home Baptist Cemetery.
