Dennis Payton Durham, 90, was called to his heavenly home on July 1, 2022.
He was a resident of South Pittsburg, Tn., a member of Temple Bible Methodist church and attended South Pittsburg Church of the Nazarene. He was born to Robert T. Durham and Louisa Whitefield Durham on June 30, 1932. Dennis loved meeting with family and friends each day, fishing, working in the garden and his church family. He enjoyed reading. He was also proud of his military service in the United States Army. He loved his sidekick Babs, who was his faithful dachshund. Dennis loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father; Robert T. Durham, mother; Louisa Whitfield, wife; Barbara Waller Durham and sister Nell Stewart.
He leaves his memories to his daughter, Stephanie (Ron) Willet; son, Stephen Durham; grandchildren, Sterling Lund, Summer Lund (Justin) Grider, Seanna Lund (Tyler) Peacock, Sarah Durham, Katie Durham; great-grandchildren, Lily Grider, Sadie Grider. Several close cousins that were like brothers and sisters along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will have visitation on Thursday, July 7, from 12-8 p.m. CST and on Friday July 8, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. CST at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tn.
Funeral services will be held on July 8, at 1 p.m. CST in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home with Pastor Carson Scarbrough officiating.
Burial will be immediately following the funeral service at New Hope Cemetery with military honors presented by Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard.
Pallbearers are Sterling Lund, Sterling Lund, Sr., Lankford Partin, Justin Grider, Tyler Peacock and Jerry Davis.
