Overdose Awareness Day Is Aug. 31

  • Thursday, August 18, 2022

Jenneth Randall, Hamilton County auditor, will be presenting a proclamation to the Hamilton County Commission on Aug. 31, declaring Aug. 31 as Overdose Awareness Day.

Ms. Randall lost her 19-year-old granddaughter, Jasmine, to fentanyl poisoning in February. She will be making this presentation on behalf of the many families who have lost loved ones to fatal overdoses.

Most of these deaths were caused by deadly fentanyl.  The medical examiner’s office reported 104 overdose deaths and several pending awaiting toxicology reports.  This is for the time period of Jan. 1-July 31.

To participate, join the Commission meeting at 9:15 a.m. on the 4th floor of the Hamilton County Courthouse.
