Charlaine Marie Long
Charlaine Marie Long, age 60, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Friday, August 5, 2022.
She was born Nov. 16, 1961 in Salacoa, Al., a daughter of the late Charles Edward and Willie Bell Hooker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Danny Long; brothers, Edwin Mathis, Roy Hooker; sisters, Ernestine “Tin” Kimble, Jeraldine Welch, Barbara Davidson; and grandson Guy Ray Brown.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, David and Samantha Williams, Joseph Ridings and Amanda Adkins; daughter and son-in-law, Christie and Roger Mashburn; her companion, Larry Phillips of Dalton, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronnie and Lois Woods of Dalton, GA, Donnie and Linda Starks of Cartersville, GA, James Starks of Milledgeville, GA, Michael and Brenda Starks of Dalton, GA, Charlene Hooker of Kentucky; sister and brother-in-law, Jackie and Ray Swilling of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Tyler Ridings, Mashaila Williams, Alexandria Williams, Sarah Smith, Jacob Smith, Jonathan Smith, Juliabell Ridings, Valerie Adkins, Aden Adkins, Nicholos Adkins, Adam Brown, Dewayne Mashburn; great grandchildren, Kiley Morrison, Pasley Morrison, Scarlett Smith, Wyatt Smith, Kash Smith; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Service to celebrate the life of Ms. Charlaine Marie Long will be held Wednesday Aug. 10, at 2 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel. Interment will follow in the Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. on Tuesday.
